Newness, Freshness, and Over Again

In the stillness of a bitter winter,

Freshly covered with new fallen snow,

Lies the beauty of a new day coming;

And, when the season’s done, we’ll know

What lies below.

God is faithful to His promises.

Seasons struggle, and seasons begin.

God of newness.

God of freshness.

God of over,

And over

Again.

In the darkness of a wicked storm—

Howling winds, piercing pain, weeping rain—

There’s the promise of a morning after;

And when the Daystar brings new light,

It’ll be alright.

God is faithful to His promises.

Seasons struggle, and seasons begin.

God of newness.

God of freshness.

God of over

And over

Again.

Though we know the flesh is made alive

By the freshness of kneeling,

The blueness of the wound yields

The newness of healing.

And all His mercies are new each day.

God of newness,

God of freshness,

God of over and over,

And over and over,

And over and over

…Again.
